To tide you over...

Wow, it turns out I'm a BAD blogger! First I get everyone excited about finally having a place to go to hear fun news about the new member of the Duncan Clan, and then I go almost a whole month without a single post. My apologies!

Life got crazy and I neglected the blog... but to tide you over until I can write something really inspiring and creative, I've posted a relatively recent picture (taken December 5th) of me and my baby bump and provided some fun tidbits below:

1. I'm feeling great! In fact, I don't remember feeling this good even before I was pregnant. I'm enjoying this second-trimester euphoria, because I hear it doesn't last...

2. Our little girl is kicking like a champ these days. You can even see it from the outside sometimes. Remember the goldfish calesthenics I mentioned in an earlier post?? I think Sean gets tired of my constant fish references, thinking they're a bit creepy (but I know my dad would be proud), but we're not talking about goldfish anymore. Sometimes she's a sturgeon and other times she's a bass (both in a really, really small livewell). Hey, it's the best way I can describe the feeling! And it's wonderful. It's usually sturgeon-party-time (thump, thump, roll) right about the time I try to lay down and go to sleep, but I'm not complaining!

3. Ah, cravings. I can't say I wasn't warned, but I didn't have them for so long that I thought I might have escaped the phenomenon. Not so. While my cravings aren't particularly strong (i.e., "ICE CREAM. NOW"), they're weird! Ready? 2% milk and grapefruit. Not skim, not 1%, but 2%. And we're not talking about a little milk on some cereal or in a cup of tea... no, this is glug-glug, by-the-16oz-glass-style milk drinking. And grapefruit - we're talking sometimes two in a day. Yup, mass quantities of 2% milk and grapefruit, neither of which I had much to do with before getting pregnant. In fact, I used to stay away from milk and citrus fruits altogether but now I just can't get enough. Go figure!

So that's the scoop for now. Again, my apologies to all you loyal followers. I hope I haven't lost you!

Happy holidays, everyone!
